The E-Generation process is so efficient, it can use more waste than the community creates, and create more energy than the community can use. In fact, the system can process all the waste from a population of 30,000 people, and create enough excess energy for an additional 500 homes. Just one truck per hour needs to enter the facility to drop off additional trash, creating minimal neighborhood impact. The E-Generation facility generates revenue as well -- tipping fees, the sale of recovered recyclables and green energy all generate reliable revenue streams, producing a nine-year payback on investment. Revenue can thereafter be invested in the community. In addition to new union-wage construction jobs, PLACE and its energy partners provide training for eight, permanent green-collar jobs operating the E-Generation facility. PLACE’s new E-Generation model can create clean energy, green jobs, and a new, creative community, all while generating additional revenue to reinvest in the continuing betterment of cities.

PLACE works with community leaders to identify specific local businesses that will fit harmoniously with the project and generate tax base, employment opportunities and small business development, all within a walkable community. Numerous recent studies have demonstrated that green space and public gathering space improve our well-being and longevity. PLACE’s designers work to create green garden space that can create lush environments as well as opportunities for micro-agriculture.
Green Energy Generation and Green Collar Jobs
Buildings consume an estimated 67% of the nation’s electricity and create nearly half of its man-made greenhouse gases. E-Generation communities actually generate more energy than they use. PLACE and its energy partners will finance, build and operate a patented, low-pressure, low-heat system capable of converting waste into clean energy. The system can convert anywhere from five hundred tons to sixty thousand tons annually. The super efficient system creates as much as 1.7 megawatts of renewable energy. The facility is fully enclosed, safe, sanitary and will create up to eight new green collar jobs. E-Generation is a new model for cities to create communities that can heal the environment.
