Hey Chris, I've been trying to find out whether or not my son, who'll be living with me part time, will qualify as a second tenant. According to the IRS I can't claim him as a dependant but I still have to have space for him to live and sleep etc. Deborah didn't know and Michele at JS hasn't gotten back to me. Do you know? Also, do you know what order the buildings will be completed and becoming occupied (if that's how it works)? Stay thirsty. Doug
I don't know the answer to your first question. Technical questions are best directed to Michele. I am sorry you haven't heard back from her yet, but I will reach out to her as well. As for completion, ah, that's always in motion. We will have everyone moved in by the end of the year, or die trying.
"Fellow" Chris (congrats), I am wondering if you could take a couple of moments in between award ceremonies to answer a couple of things about the notification/unit selection process... For the folks who are notified that they have been accepted/qualified to live at the WAV how much time will they have to select a unit? Must they give their unit choices right then and there? Will they be able to go and look at units? Will they be told what AMI they are at? I have a sheet from one of the meetings titled "Draft Rents - Subject To Change" that breaks up the available units by number of bedrooms and then again by AMI and corresponding rent. Nick's ASUL (Awesome Sortable Unit List) on the website has what I believe are updated rents for each unit but does not have any info on AMI's and corresponding rents. Any ideas? On a personal note, I still haven't heard from Michele yet regarding whether or not my son will qualify me for a two bedroom. Any ideas? You will have fifteen minutes to repond to this section. I will be reading your response with a stone-face.
sandini61: I believe dougthedrummer's questions were addressed to Chris. I'll do my best to answer them, but Chris will have a more precise answer to these.
1. For the folks who are notified that they have been accepted/qualified to live at the WAV how much time will they have to select a unit? Deborah Hazen sent out an email asking for your top 3 unit choices. The email asks for a reply by Thursday, September 24th.
2. Must they give their unit choices right then and there? We've all been asked to, you'll need to talk with Deborah if you can't make a selection by that time.
3. Will they be able to go and look at units? Not sure. Deborah's email reccommends using the sortable unit database to find the unit you'd like. Construction is in overdrive so the site is pretty locked down for tours.
4. Will they be told what AMI they are at? Not sure. Please post the answer if you find it.
5. Any ideas? The rental rates on the sortable unit database are the most up-to-date information I have from PLACE. It is NOT the official cut in stone rates, but rather a very close estimate (I think). I defer to Chris Velasco for further information on this one.
6. On a personal note, I still haven't heard from Michele yet regarding whether or not my son will qualify me for a two bedroom. Any ideas? I defer to Chris Velasco on this one.
Thanks Nick, I thinkyour answers will help almost everyone.
Sadly, I had to remove my name from the active to "waiting list" due to a physical handicap" I need to address surgically. I will reapply when I will be able to pack, move in and meet fully my responsibiliti8es as a WAV resident.
Best wishes to everyone out there. It has been a pleasure sharing with you guys these past three years on the forums. I will keep in touch and comment from time to time.
Hey Sandini, Sorry to hear your news. I hope you have a speedy recovery. I'm sure many of us in the arts community would be happy to volunteer some time and help you pack and move. Don't let any of that keep you from being a part of the community. Keep us posted please... Doug Johnson
Hi Sandini, sorry to hear your condition and having to put WAV on pause, I hope you recover well. Don't hesitate to ask for help like Doug said, would be happy to. David
Just wondering if everyone will be recieving a call or just the people being accepted. I recieved the last e-mail saying that our phone call would be coming by the end of the week which was this past week but I didn't recieve a call so I was just wondering.
Just wondering if calls are still being made? with sum people already moving in I imagine those of us who havent't heard anything probably werent accepted but I hope I'm wrong, anyways just curious.
Dear Chris: Thanks for getting back to me. I recieved your message a couple of weeks ago about my e-mail address and I called you back but did not get you so I left a message as well giving you my new e-mail which by the way did recieve the e-mail about calls being made out. I then recieved another update about some calls still being made. Sadly however I haven't heard anything since. Anyways I called you today at the number you left and left you a message. Hope to hear from you soon, it seems something is keeping us from talking. My number is 661-342-0662, theres no rush I'll try you again Monday.
