my oh my... we should get together sometime and have a drawing war. have you ever done this with a friend?... one of my friends does it often with his other friend. ok what would be useful is not to have notifications sent to my email of new posts while i'm logged in... is there some setting i should change?
There isn't a setting that can be changed (yet) for notifications, I would set up a smart folder to collect them if your using Mail on a Mac. I'll look into fixing the issue in the future.
ok i hate the attachment feature. it sucks and doesn't work for me... i have a mac... perhaps that is why. anybody else having these issues? also what is a smart folder? i use hotmail and no email client... grrr
S. Tune: Thank you. I want do something similar but a lot larger, and really flesh the trees out like Van Gogh's tree sketches. We'll see if I ever get around to it though...
NICK! That is a really a super idea. When I first saw it, I didn't realize it's size. You MUST redo this in large format, (30x40?) even if it takes months. Great title, MILES TO GO, and worth the work it will take. Will you use color?
SANDINI61: My Favorite is the Peacock Fancy. Love the colors. I am amazed how you accomplish these. Such patience! Hopefully I will see them in person and up close at some point.
S. Tune: Probably wont be using color... I haven't been happy with my color work lately (need some new paints). I'm having a lot of fun in gray scale (some colored highlights on the tree trunks wouldn't look to shabby though ).
I hope you start - YOUR - Miles to go...painting. It would be very striking on a bigger canvas. Do you have time to do it ? A touch of color on the tree trunks is a good idea. You seem to do well in black and white though.
S. Tune: I just got a new job so finding time to paint is getting slimmer and slimmer... I've almost finished a ink and wash painting on a wooden door (just need to epoxy it...) Hopefully my job won't stop me. As for color, I can taste the rainbow. I'm obsessing about color lately, so my work may do a 180.
Color work like this from Yoshitaka Amano have really inspired me lately.
Nick: That is my situation also. Work. I have cut my hours, even if it means less money. I think you have it in you to do both. Just means giving up time for other fun things, unfortunately. Time...that precious commodity. Decisions on how to use it. The Amano piece is superb!! I can see where you would be inspired by that.
Nick: Thanks. Photos just do not do properjustice depicting the intricate embellishments, fetishes, crystals, peyote stitch beadwork, flowers, leaves, lightning bolt patterns, etc.
Beading is a wonderful medium. Each piece speaks to me constantly as I work with it so it is never ends up looking like the careful research and sketches I work on before beginning a piece. That is the part of the beauty of creating ART that I especially love. I have hundreds of pieces of driftwood and wormwood calling to me! I LOVE my beads!
I would like to thank STune for her dilegent work with this digital pic of this snake I sent her. She put a great deal of time and effort into getting it to the clearest depiction possible with what she had to orginially work with.
What I've also been doing lately: The start of a newly cemented patio mural.Commission. Chack grid marks still visible. This whole patio will take some time.
Two close up shots of beaded embellishment on the Purple Dome above Item sold. Valued at $150. Price estimated by cost of beads then I double that cost for time and labor. It's hard to price these orders when they are orgially placed, as pieces seem to transform as I am working on them, and take on a life of their own. If anyone has a better method of pricing, please advise. Too high? Too Low? I'm not trying to get rich here, just make enough so I can have a bead studio full time and not have to work weekdays also to pay the rent , food & bills!
