Introduction This section will feature refined articles about the WAV community. Articles will be journalistic pieces, not opinion pieces
Possible Article Topics Artist interviews Art show coverage Community project updates (gardening, food drives, public outreach...) more ideas needed... contribute yours!
News Section Structure _Title (short and descriptive) _Tagline (short synopsis with a hook) _Photo/Illustration (mandatory, more than one hopefully) _Article (the meat...) _Author _Date posted _Category _Reader comments section
Organization Readers will be able to search for articles by author name, category, or date posted.
Updating News Articles will only be created and edited by a select group of authors (hopefully willing residents mostly). This way the content can be groomed to a high standard; there will be a place for off the cuff discussions created by anyone in the discuss section. The news section will be a highlight of the site, it should strive for creativity and professionalism. I plan to assist the authors with article standards and copy editing along with any other possible volunteers.
Photos and Illustration I plan to have a hand in the creation or editing of all these assets to keep continuity in the site (this could change, depending on workload).
Questions For Discussion What types of articles would you be interested in reading? Would you interested in being an author; knowing articles will be refined and journalistic? This section is still a bit under-developed, any creative ideas bursting out of your mind?
Nick: I am hoping after residents move into WAV we can expand all these topics further. I certainly hope the website will remain up and running and even more people inputting. Many artists will be so busy creating, that this forum will remain a vital part of our lives. We might not see each other as often as we like, but at the end of the day we can go online and keep each other informed and updated. I hope we can develop and maintain the above article and section structure. What a wonderful reference resource material library we could have at our fingertips! There are endless opportunities and directions we could expand online.
Having obtained the upper class section of my BA in Business Administration online from University of Phoenix 99% of my academic reading was done by searching topics out on the internet. There is a wealth of information available on any topic imaginable and I think we could tailor our own periodical library encompassing each of our individual artistic talents.
S.Tune: I'll be clicking the get a life button once WAV opens up. Until then I'm plugging away online trying to push our real world dream closer. I'm pretty internet strung out with all the work I've been doing lately. So nice to finally see that light at the end of our tunnel. Only a couple months to go!
And you have done an excellent job, keeping us all together and well informed on this website.Thank you for that, Nick. That is why we would need a blast of a party after all is done and we're all through the tunnel. I can feel it coming.Think by Christmas?
Hi, my name is Michael Zelcer a reverse glass painter here in Ventura. I have a open space 2 bedroom unit on the second floor mezzanine #225 / Suite #213 and would like to know if there is anyone with a ground floor unit with a garage rollup door and porch or porches, with a one or two bedroom unit that would consider trading units with me. Working with large panels of glass, I have concerns about being on the second floor moving and creating my art in this unit even though it is a spatious cool unit. If you’re interested please call me and we can discuss this opportunity 805 377-5994 Thanks to all

Once you have submitted your Artist Waiting List application, you will have begun the process. In the meantime, let me welcome you to the WAV community, which is much bigger than just the people who live and work there.
