Sustainability
Part of PLACE's mission is to innovate on every front when it comes to developing projects. We strongly believe that any building going up today must be conscious of its impact on our planet's fragile environment -- in fact, we believe that it is unethical for a developer to plan a project without doing all it can to build it "green".
WAV will be the first project of its kind to be LEED Certified, using numerous tactics to reduce it's environmental impact. Few affrodable housing projects are built with an eye toward sustainability; traditionally, developers assume that the extra cost of "greening" these projects is too high and prohibitive. Through innovative, cutting-edge funding strategies, we have made sure that WAV, despite being a project that provides affordable housing for artists and for recently homeless families, will be extremely green.
